History
New Pathways Counselling was born out of Kayla Benbow's desire to continue to engage and support the Whistler community. Kayla has been involved in many different aspects of the Whistler community since her family moved to Whistler over 25 years ago. Kayla's parents played an instrumental part in Kayla's love for volunteering and engaging in community organizations. After working and volunteering for a number of non-profit organizations in the community, Kayla decided to go back to school and obtain her Masters in Counselling Psychology.
Kayla's background in sport as both an athlete and coach continues to shape her approach to life and counselling. After leaving competitive sport as an athlete, Kayla coached with the Whistler Mountain Ski Club for ten years and worked in many of the programs offered. The influence of sport in Kayla's life can be seen in her strengths-based approach to counselling, her desire to maintain an active lifestyle, and her love of the mountains and nature.
Kayla currently lives in Whistler with her dog Chloé.
